About the Company

GeMech is a piling business that sits within the construction industry. Although there are many keywords to target within the construction industry, the services that GeMech provided within the industry were incredibly niche. This meant that relevant keywords that the client wanted to target were scarce.

GeMech were a much smaller company within the piling industry, so I needed to look for areas of opportunity where the bigger competitors weren’t doing so well. This made me target ‘ground improvement’ related keywords.

303% increase in sessions

When I took the GeMech account on in October of 2023, the site was attracting 93 organic monthly sessions. 

As of October 2024, GeMech were attracting 375 organic monthly sessions. That is an increase of 303% year-on-year.

1733% increase in conversions

As of October 2024, GeMech were getting 55 organic conversions compared to the 3 they were getting in October 2023.

Although the figure ‘1733% increase‘ sounds drastic in the context of the numbers, a minimum job for GeMech was valued at £50,000. 

Organic keywords growth from 8 to 97

Keywords in this very niche sector of the construction industry are scarce and fairly competitive. 

On top of growing the organic profile of GeMech, I increased visibility from 0.2% to 4.4%.

Web Content Work

The one main standout I noticed about GeMech compared to the competitors in the top 3 positions is that GeMech lacked a ‘process’ section. Their Vibro Stone Column page was originally bare, but after working with the team to ensure I got the right information, I filled out a process section and added ‘advantages’ on the page to provide more information to the reader. 

Before I left the business, I also had a strategy in motion to implement explainer videos that would help visualise the process.

As in the case with any SEO project, getting the basics done was important (especially for a company that has never considered SEO before). 

By changing the meta tags (alongside new content changes) we were able to start seeing the needle jumped for most service pages. Vibro Stone Columns jumped from a position of 100+ to position 9.
